Reportage: Las Vegas 2011
Reportage: Las Vegas 2011
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:
This five-day workshop is for photographers looking to hone their skills in one of the iconic destinations in American culture. Las Vegas offers a wide variety of opportunities for the documentarian, visual journalist, or street photographer. For over 60 years the glitz, glamour, and glare of the neon of the Las Vegas Strip held the fascination of those who came by the thousands…and still do. The over-the-top scale of what happens in Vegas is also matched by its problems including the decay of the “former” Las Vegas and where one in every 25 homes has fallen into foreclosure. This is truly a destination with something for everyone in the desert sun.
BASE OF OPERATION: Though most projects will not involve daily travel of more than a few miles our base will be at the center of it all on the Las Vegas Strip – we will be staying at one of the upscale casino hotels in the middle of the action, within walking distance to most of the attractions, great restaurants, and any and all convenience imaginable.
COURSE DATES: February 16 thru 20, 2011
ENROLLMENT: up to 9
LEVEL: New photographers looking to make the next leap, Serious amateurs, Pros looking to expand their personal visions
PRICE: $1,595 (double occupancy) includes hands-on instruction and critiques for 5 days, lodging, dinner each night, Lightroom tutorials, workflow tutorial, and a completion night awards dinner.
AIRFARE IS NOT INCLUDED.
